FuelNearby Launches UK ‘Price Changes Today’ — See Where Forecourts Moved Overnight
New FuelNearby tool surfaces the biggest petrol and diesel list-price moves nationwide: FuelNearby.co.uk/fuel-prices/price-changes-today ranks today’s sharpest rises and falls in pence per litre, refreshed from official retailer data.
FuelNearby rolls out live tracker as stations reprice on different schedules
UK fuel prices rarely move in one national headline. While wholesale and duty stories grab the news, forecourts often reprice in waves — by brand, by region, and sometimes by a few pence per litre in a single update. Drivers see the end result on the pole sign, but not which sites moved first or how large the jump was compared with yesterday’s list price.
Today FuelNearby is publishing a dedicated dashboard to answer that: UK Fuel Price Changes Today — live at fuelnearby.co.uk/fuel-prices/price-changes-today — built from the same official retailer feeds that power our map and cheapest-fuel pages.
What the new page shows — and why we built it
The Price Changes Today screen is built for scanning the day’s story in numbers:
- Running totals for the current UK calendar day (clocked in Europe/London): how many increases and decreases we recorded, not just the highlights
- Top 20 largest increases and top 20 largest decreases in pence per litre, with fuel grade (E10, E5, B7, SDV, etc.), old price, new price, change, and time since the update
- One tap to the map — follow a station name to open FuelNearby’s live map on that forecourt
If you follow fuel as news, think of it as the “movers” column for UK forecourts: who repriced, by how much, and how recently — alongside the context you already get from our cheapest petrol today and cheapest diesel today guides.
Behind the headline: how we flag a change
We maintain price history per site and fuel. On each data run we compare the latest reported list price to the previous reading; where it moves by at least 0.05p per litre, we log a change. The top 20 tables zoom in on the biggest moves so day-to-day feed noise does not drown out the story.
The same station can appear more than once when several grades move or when prices step twice in a day — that is intentional for anyone tracking volatility, not just a single snapshot.
Freshness and what to remember at the pump
Updates follow our ingest schedule; the page refreshes on a short cache so numbers stay current without hammering our systems — typically you will see new rows within about a minute of a refresh after data lands.
Important for readers: figures are reported list prices, not a guarantee at the nozzle — loyalty deals, promotions, and pump prices can differ. Always confirm on the forecourt before filling. On very heavy days, API limits can mean totals shift slightly as new rows enter the window; we explain that on the Price Changes Today page itself.
